First up...

Paris!

The capital of France is famous for its stunning architecture, and unique culture. However, in recent years traffic congestion and overcrowding have led to parts of the city becoming run-down and polluted.

Now, a group of architects are working on a project to revive the city, and transform Paris into the most environmentally friendly city in Europe!

One element of the project aims to remodel a famous boulevard into a giant urban garden. Redirecting traffic, widening sidewalks, and planting lines of trees will cut air pollution dramatically, and transform the area into a far cleaner environment for people to spend time in.

Over 900 miles of cycle lanes are being constructed, and the land beneath the famous Eiffel Tower is being turned into a park!

Due to be finished by 2030, the redevelopment of Paris could revitalize the city, and inspire other cities to say, “bonjour” to green redevelopment projects!

It’s Tech Beat!

Most robots are designed to move in one particular way. For example, they might be designed to walk, or to fly.

But now, engineers in California have developed a robot that can do both!

Inspired by the way birds use their legs to generate power when they take off, the engineers have used a process called biomimicry to design the robot in a similar way.

Nicknamed Leo, the robot can use its legs to walk and its propellers to fly.

The ability to use both functions at the same time gives Leo incredible balancing skills. Leo has successfully ridden a skateboard, and has even walked along a slackline without falling off!

Although Leo may look a little fragile, the robot's flexible mobility could have many practical uses, such as enabling future space rovers to navigate challenging terrain.

And finally...

Wildlife photographers travel the world to take photos of natural phenomena.

Whether it's exploring Africa to photograph an endangered elephant, or diving beneath the sea to capture the health of coral reefs, wildlife photographers take some extraordinary photos.

However, sometimes not every photo goes quite to plan. To celebrate the entertaining side of wildlife photography, a competition is being held to find the funniest wildlife snap taken this year.

But who will win?

Will it be a dancing monkey, or a startled eagle? Some gossiping racoons, or perhaps a grumpy lizard? Maybe this very glamorous fish will win, or will this sunbathing seal take home gold!?

The winner will be announced in November, but which do you think should win?
